1. Download the PDF from Citizens

  1. Sign in to Citizens Online Banking at citizensbank.com.
  2. Open the Document Center tab and filter by account and timeframe.
  3. Open the statement and save the PDF.

2. Upload and verify

Utilly reads every transaction, then checks that opening balance + transactions = closing balance. You'll see Balanced ✓ or exactly how far off it is, before you pay anything.

3. Download any format

Every conversion includes CSV (opens in Excel and Sheets), a QuickBooks .QBO Web Connect file, a 3-column CSV for QuickBooks Online and a Xero-ready CSV. One credit covers all formats.

About Citizens statements

Citizens statements group transactions by type, Checks (printed two across), Withdrawals & Debits (ATM/Purchases and Other Withdrawals & Debits) and Deposits & Credits, with the amount before the description and no sign on any amount. Utilly signs each row by its section, turns checks into "Check 1021" rows, joins wrapped merchant lines, skips the recap column down the right-hand side, and checks the result against the Balance Calculation's Previous and Current Balance.

Works with Citizens checking statements. Layout tested: Sections by type, unsigned amounts, amount before the description.

Can I convert a Citizens statement PDF to Excel, QuickBooks or Xero for free?

You can preview every statement free: we show the balance check and the first 5 transactions with no sign-up. Unlocking the full file costs one credit ($9 for 5 statements).

Is my statement stored?

No. The PDF is read in memory and never written to disk, and extracted results are deleted after 1 hour. We never use your data for AI training.

Do scanned statements work?

Not yet. PDFs downloaded from online banking are text-based and work well. Scans and phone photos need OCR, which is on the roadmap.

What if it doesn't balance?

You'll see exactly how far off it is before paying. If a paid conversion is wrong and we can't fix it, email support@version1.io for a refund.
