About Capital One credit card statements

Capital One card statements show a transaction date and a post date on every row, with payments as '- $' amounts. Utilly uses the transaction date, keeps the merchant description intact and checks the New Balance.

Works with Capital One credit card Venture, Quicksilver, Spark and other Capital One card statements. Layout tested: Trans date + post date columns; '- $' payments.

Why QuickBooks?

QuickBooks Online can now read a card statement PDF itself (Upload from file → AI extraction with side-by-side review), but QuickBooks Desktop can't. The .QBO file from Utilly is a credit-card Web Connect file: import it into a Credit Card account in Online or Desktop, already checked against the statement's New Balance. Need Desktop without Web Connect? Download the .IIF instead.

Pricing

FAQ

Questions

Can I convert a Capital One credit card statement PDF to QuickBooks (QBO) for free?

You can preview every statement free: we show the balance check and the first 5 transactions with no sign-up. Unlocking the full file costs one credit ($9 for 5 statements).

How do you handle payments and refunds on a card statement?

Charges, fees and interest come out as negative amounts (money out) and payments, refunds and statement credits as positive. We then check Previous Balance − payments/credits + charges = New Balance, so you know every row was captured.

Can QuickBooks import a PDF bank statement directly?

QuickBooks Online can: Upload from file accepts a PDF statement and uses AI to extract it for your review. QuickBooks Desktop can't, and needs a QBO (Web Connect) file. Utilly is useful when you want a file that's already verified against the statement balances, need Desktop, or want the same data in Excel for your workpapers.

Is my statement stored?

No. The PDF is read in memory and never written to disk, and extracted results are deleted after 1 hour. We never use your data for AI training.

Do scanned statements work?

Not yet. PDFs downloaded from online banking are text-based and work well. Scans and phone photos need OCR, which is on the roadmap.

What if it doesn't balance?

You'll see exactly how far off it is before paying. If a paid conversion is wrong and we can't fix it, email support@version1.io for a refund.
