About Chase credit card statements

Chase card statements put PAYMENTS AND OTHER CREDITS (negative amounts) and PURCHASE rows under Account Activity, with interest listed separately. Utilly reads every section and ties it to the Account Summary's Previous Balance and New Balance.

Works with Chase credit card Sapphire, Freedom, Ink and other Chase card statements. Layout tested: Account Activity split into payments/credits, purchases and interest.

Why CSV?

A CSV with one signed Amount column (charges negative, payments positive) imports into almost anything: spreadsheets, Wave, Zoho Books, FreshBooks or a credit-card register.

FAQ

Questions

Can I convert a Chase credit card statement PDF to a CSV file for free?

You can preview every statement free: we show the balance check and the first 5 transactions with no sign-up. Unlocking the full file costs one credit ($9 for 5 statements).

How do you handle payments and refunds on a card statement?

Charges, fees and interest come out as negative amounts (money out) and payments, refunds and statement credits as positive. We then check Previous Balance − payments/credits + charges = New Balance, so you know every row was captured.

Why not just copy and paste from the PDF?

Copying from a PDF usually scrambles columns, merges descriptions and drops minus signs. Utilly keeps each transaction on one row with a signed amount, and the balance check tells you nothing was missed.

Is my statement stored?

No. The PDF is read in memory and never written to disk, and extracted results are deleted after 1 hour. We never use your data for AI training.

Do scanned statements work?

Not yet. PDFs downloaded from online banking are text-based and work well. Scans and phone photos need OCR, which is on the roadmap.

What if it doesn't balance?

You'll see exactly how far off it is before paying. If a paid conversion is wrong and we can't fix it, email support@version1.io for a refund.
